What not to wear at Zumba® classes!

You can wear almost anything that feels comfortable and allows you to move, and whatever you feel good in!  No need to spend money on new gear – you can wear shorts, trackpants, leggings, and either a loose or tight-fitting top, whatever your preference. It’s good to have clothing you can peel off when your heart rate increases because you should expect to get hot!  The best Zumba® shoes are ones with a low tread but which give you some support.  Avoid running shoes because they tend to grip the floor which can play havoc with knee joints.  A pair of aerobic, walking shoes or jazz boots are more appropriate.

Of course, if you want to take your look up a notch, and let your friends know you’re a Zumba fan, you can wear the super cool and comfortable branded clothing.

Ask Kelsey what’s available and she can order it for you or she may already have some Zumba clothing in stock. There are a few pairs of black Zumba pants available if you are needing a comfortable pair of cargos to work out in.  Just ask the question and Kelsey will be happy to assist.

Changes Take Place

As we age, change takes place in our bodies. Changes can occur in blood pressure, blood sugar, bone density, muscle mass, body fat and strength. What we do to offset the changes is up to us. Doctors and nutritionists advise us to stay active, eat healthy, and think positively. An easy way to follow their advice is by taking Zumba® dance classes which help us in all three areas.

Not only is aerobic dance great for our bodies, it’s great for our minds. While dancing to the exciting beats of Latin music, the brain’s pharmacy begins to release its natural ‘fixes’ of serotonin and dopamine to make us feel good. In other words, dancing is a natural high! In our modern day lives fitness should register high on our daily to-do list to combat stress and inactivity.
